five species

Every egg holds one of five creatures. Species is the base trait; each pet also carries a palette, headgear, an item, and a background from the pre-committed trait list. Counts below are exact and locked by the published hash.

Watches the screen with terminal-cursor eyes. Blinks exactly when you stop typing.
sage pixel dinosaur

Old-web energy. Stands guard next to long-running jobs and never gets bored.
plump cream pixel bird

600 of 4,000
Round, smug, first to celebrate a green build. Puffs up when markets are open.
small gray pixel ghost
ghost
200 of 4,000
The rare one. Said to appear on your desktop the moment a build fails somewhere.

how rarity is proven

The species counts and every individual egg's contents were fixed before mint and committed with a published hash. Nobody, including us, can nudge a ghost into a friendly wallet after launch: any change to any egg would break the hash. When the last egg hatches, the full list is published and anyone can verify it byte for byte. Details on the mint page.

the egg state counts too

Unhatched eggs are not placeholders. They are the collection's second character: tradeable, snapshot-eligible for daily rewards, and the only state in which every species is still possible. Some holders will keep eggs unhatched as long as the rules allow, and the rules allow exactly until a hatch event reaches them.
